3 light mod
#21
I recommend the 3-way mod kit from quadovator.com I have now done it 4 times (4 PoPos) installing
these and its really easy! Thanks Stendori for the reference, yes just check my BIO page and
I have pretty much the step by step pic instructions on how to install it. Have fun!

I never heard of quadovator. It looks like they copied this from montanajacks. I used the montanajacks kit on all of my Sp 500s starting in 1997. It costs $19.99 plus $8 shipping to where I am. It comes with a switch to bypass the diode(?) so you can have all 3 lights, just high, or just low. The switch is crap and you're better off not using it. Then it's just like the quadovator kit. I'll be getting the quadovator for my next quad since it's half as much and I don't install the switch anymore. http://www.montanajacks.com/in...on=VIEWPROD&ProdID=244

You would not be using all 3 lights long enough to kill the battery, the low beam 2 light set up still works. You would have to be on one long midnight ride for the 3 lights to kill the battery because the charging system cant keep up.
Even if you parked the ATV with the motor and charging system off and left the 3 lights on it would take a long time for the battery to die.</end quote></div>
I've got a 95 425 Magnum and the charging system can't keep up with running three headlights. My switch easily lets you adjust it so that it runs all three lights. I've noticed that if you run it that way for very long it really drains the battery. In fact last winter I was running all three lights and it stalled while I was backing up (damned reverse override switch) and I couldn't start it again. Of course I was miles from home , way back in the timber, past midnight in a snowstorm. I thought about putting a bullet through the pod. I really did.

If you keep running it with the switch halfway it can burn out the switch. It barely makes contact on each edge instead of having full contact in the middle. Or so I've heard. I never wanted to find out so I always install a 3-light kit.
