Default belt turning

with the cover off, setting there idling, should the belt be turning,i know the drive clutch will turn but should the driven clutch be moving at all until you give it gas,it that right,if not tell me what should be happening on an atv with every thing working like it suppose too.

The belt should not be turnung at idle. If its turning it will be hard to shift and creep when in gear. Look down into the primary while its idling and see which side of the sheave its hitting and you need to adjust the clutch alignment so its centered. Maybe you have a stuck clutch, watch the videos on the other EBS clutch problem post.

If your belt and secondary clutch is turning while sitting there in neutral it will be very hard to shift. I have a couple Polaris atvs and if my clutches are adjusted correctly they do not turn.

Are your atvs hard to shift? Do they creep in gear?

Now I am confused!!!!!!...........I never had my belt cover off yet!!....But I do snowmobile and no they don't turn or the sled will take off!!!......But I am sure it's different with a Quad ...It has high, low, reverse, neutral, and some have park like our Sportsmans .........So which is it .Yes it turns or no just the Primary should be spinning off the engine........Caper...........

Just the primary turns, the belt sits centered between the sheaves on the EBS one way bearing.

Your belt should be loose around the primary and not be turning or turning the secondary.

If you secondary is turning it will be hard to shift gears and will creep.
