Default Suggestions on front shocks for '02 500HO

Any suggestions on what I can upgrade to?? I don't want to spend a ton of money on this thing in case I get the fever for trading up to 800 real soon.

What's happening: They collapse in the winter time and take about 30 minutes to release and spring back to normal. They are the original shock and have been plowed on for 5yrs now.

The shock is to control or dampen the rebound of the spring. So the springs hold it up. If the strut was sticking could give this impression possibly. CAn do a net search for polaris sportsman strut, see they are about 150 a set. Could probably find a bit better on ebay.

Maybe I just need new springs, which are a bit cheaper to go with. It just seems odd that they would compress like that. In fact yesterday, I had about 90lbs on the front rack and it didn't seem to sag too much.

Well I just orderd a set of Hi-Lifter HD springs from Ronnie's just to be safe. They were only $70 for the set and they add 100lbs of carrying weight to the front rack. It can only help when I plow, plus where I ride is super rocky so it should reduce the bottoming out.
