I bought a 08 500 HO last week - The financing / winch / great price sealed the deal. I paid 4916.00 + tax for mine. My new Polaris has great suspension and I can't complain about the power.

Are you guys getting a $500 rebate? It doesn't show on the Polaris website but the cost reports from cyclebuy show one. Just curious. I'm looking for the best price on a 500 EFI.

Polaris all the way! Most comfortable ATV on the market... great 4x4 system and motors too!

You know we are going to try to talk you into staying PoPo, but I see your point, I ride with a buddy who owns a Vinson and it is a nice bike! The ride isn't as nice as the SP 500 HO, and tends to be more to the sporty side where the SP has the great ride, storage, and will out ground clearance the Vinson swing arm rear. I would think that you might like to stay with the Polaris IRS, towing, and the power of the 500 HO...it is a much more solid machine in my opinion then the Vinson that is built to a much lower price point to begin with. Don't get me wrong, the Vinson looks to be engineered and put together well but it just seems to have a cheaper feel to me.</end quote></div>
strait axle is something to look at. I am 14 and love the sporty ness of it but even i am selling my strait axle scrambler for a heavy less sporty sportsman because i hate the strait axle and don't get me wrong i also hait the chain 2 but the vinson is shaft drive right? anywas on rocks it jerks you around more and it is harder int eh trail to go fast i don't know about u but the guys i ride with sometimes if eh wrong person leads we are flying threw the trail and i cant keep up with teh sportsmans in tight areas with teh turns with rocks in teh middle. the strail axle whants to dip foward and flip over. the sportsmans lean a lil hook up and pull away. i know people might be saying that what i said isnot trew and i just can't drive but it is. on a track you whant a strait axle in teh woods you don't. not to mention all of my frame problems from majorly hitting rocks with my strait axle.I have to throw it sidewars and spin the tires to try to keep up and you are standing teh whole time on the sportsmans you might be able to sit in some areas. even at 14 i would hirt myself were i ride ifi sat down the strait axle kills after a long ride.

Strange coincidence you should ask about the $500 rebate...got a call at work today from my dealer, he had a guy in the shop that was leaving for a ride out of state and really needed a winch to replace his busted one, the winch going on my new machine was the last one in the store till Monday and he was asking if it would be OK if I waited for mine till next week...long story short, after some conversation, evidently, Polaris is giving a $500 credit for the winch if you don't want it, I jumped on that train since a the $150 Gorilla is just fine with me!
So this may be where the $500 rebate is coming from

Yes the dealers here in Canada will "DROP" the price if you don't want the winch.........Even though it listed as "FREE"..........So when you see the ads Polaris puts out....."FREE WINCH"......You are paying for it somewhere in the price...........Because, if you choose not to get the FREE WINCH......the price of the Quad will drop.......But it is up to you to tell the dealer ...........otherwise the Quad price will stay the same and the dealer will sell the winch to someone else!!!...........
Another story to tell about working prices with the dealer..
I wanted to pay CASH for my two Sp 450's but the dealer told me he can give me a better deal if I put them on the Polaris Star Card!!........So they get a better cut from the Quads being put on the card......I just sent a payment for the full amout when the first statement came in (had Cash anyway).......That way I got a better deal and I payed no intrest on the Card..........Now since 2006 I have a Polaris card that I can use with over $16000.00 dollar limit!!....LOL....LOL......Caper.........
So if any of you out there are going to pay cash for your wheelers.......See what kind of deal they will give you if the Quad is put on the card first!!......I bet it will be cheaper!!.......caper......
