up date i put new plug in yesterday put neddle valve to 2 slot as per manual,an stated right up as usual an then bingo the bog , so i took off cover an pulled bk wire from rev , an it started up ok run ok shut off an let sit an ran again , ok will see today if that is problem will keep posted

cchucky51 - I just realized you weren't the originator of this thread - I hope Mayday is finding this useful also...
If it continues to run good with the black wire disconnected you have 1 of 2 problems...
1) Most likely cause is your RPM Limiter is going bad
2) OR something with your transmission gear position switch is having issues .
NOW, the downfall to the RPM limiter going bad is that if the quad is AWD, the RPM limiter also controls the ground to the AWD system... Although a person can run the quad with the RPM limiter "bypassed" (which is a safety issue as the RPM limiter is in place as a controlled limit of speed in the Reverse gear), depending on the degree of "gone bad" of the RPM limiter, the AWD may not function.

Don't know if it could cause the backfiring...but there's a clean-out plug on the exhaust canister,near the outlet,that your supposed to periodically remove & cover the outlet to blowout the carbon build-up in the canister
