Default New Sportsman 800, Antifreeze in my oil?

Hello,

I am a first time owner of a new 07 sportsman 800. I drove up to georgia from orlando Fl to buy this machine last weekend. The sale went perfect, the price was great, and I had a great machine. When I unloaded the 800 from my truck I noticed the coolant level was way low but I did not think anything of it. I bolted on my bumpers and rack extensions and parked it in the garage for the week.

Today I pulled my 800 out to get it ready for a ride at a friends house tomorrow, I decieded to check my oil (I should of done this before I left the dealer) My oil level was 3/4" higher than the safe level on my dipstick and the oil has the color of a mud puddle. Is this a normal thing? This machine has 2.3 hrs and 9 miles, It was sold as a new machine. It has only ran for about 20 min since i brought it home.

I drained some oil and took some pics

Well the Syn. oil from Polaris does have a GREEN tint to it from what I noticed doing my own oil changes......
Not too sure if it is that green though!!..Someone else will chime in and tell you for sure!!......Looks very clean ...With that many hours/miles .......I would change the oil and top off the coolant overflow and keep I close eye on it after first ride!!...Hope that helps...Caper.........

on the 08' 800's like mine have a almost clear color oil but i do beleave the 07' like my 06' still has the 0-40 polaris synth green oil in it. did you start the bike up and run it for a couple of minutes before you checked the oil?? this is how you check the oil on these bikes. the antifreeze wants to be no lower then the add mark in the tank and will go up when the bike warms up. you do not want it on the high mark as it might **** out the top when it gets warmed up as it expends.

Yes it does have a very green tint to it.........I checked the new oil right out of the Polaris Quart!!!......Caper.........You should be fine...
As for the coolant being low ...After the Quad heats up ..Check it then.........It will expand and fill the overflow up a wee-bit more!!!....I always check my coolant level when the Quad is up to temp!!!....Caper.....Good luck!!....

Ya I let run for a couple minutes just to make sure. So the 0w40 has a green color to it? My sample I drained out has been sitting on my counter for an hour or so untouched, I just checked it with a flashlight and it looks as though there is seperation. There is a small Layer of bright geen fluid (antifreeze?)ontop of the dull green fluid (oil?). Does the 0w40 seperate when it sits?

The antifreeze level is about 1 1/2" below the min line when the machine was warm enough for the electric fan to run.

Thanks caper, this makes me feel much better about this. I am still going to run it by the local dealer on monday before I take it on a ride.
