Default buy extended warranty

Hey all,

I usually do not buy extended warranties, but am considering doing w/ the purchase of a new HO or efi 500 sportsman.

was curious if most people here are buying them and if it has been a good deal or not. the dealer wants $1000 for a Polaris extended warrany for 5 years, which is suppose to cover everything.

thanks!

Default buy extended warranty

I had a offer from the dealer I purchased my 2008 500 ho from for between 560 for 2yrs and 1050 for 5 yrs. I would also like to know if it is worth getting or just a ripoff.I thought I seen some talking about a different one but I cannot remeber the name of the warranty coverage.

Hey guys,ccolt1 I believe the other warranty company is called western. It's like a aftermarket warranty company.Ijust purchased my warranty thru polaris,it waslike 760.00 for three years. But as you know the warranty is good as the dealer you deal with.Mine has been great!!

Although,I puchased 3- soon to be 4 sportsmen in 4 years. My 08-800 mossy oak should be in any day now!!!

I have bought extended warranties for everything I ever bought new, and never had an issue with getting things fixed. I bought a 5yr one for my 07' 800 for $1000 and think that is a real good deal.

thanks for all the replys.

Sounds like most are opting to buy the polaristar warranty.

One more quesiton...did you all buy right from the dealer?

The dealer is telling me I have to buy from them, but everything else I read say you will get a notice form Polaris to purchase and is usually cheaper.

Any thoughts?

thanks!

If I spent $1000 in repairs on a ATV I would give up the sport. Remember the warranty will not cover the real world stuff like belts tires and brakes. and $1000 replaces more bearings, tie rods and bushings than 4 atvs would ever need in 5 years.

My ex. warranty just expired last month for my '03. It added on around $600 to my total new purchase amount. Never needed it, (just a couple minor recalls) but for the small difference it made in my monthly payment, It gave me peace of mind since that was my first atv not knowing how well it would hold up. I don't regret it. Just my 2 cents worth.
