I live in Western Maine, have three kids - daughter 8, son 5, son 2. Been out of the ATV scene for years - use to do a lot of motorcycle riding (24 years of riding) and ATVing before starting my family. With kids I am a little skiddish riding my motorcycle now (lots of idiots on the road) - so I thought I would get back into the ATV scene. Just bought a red '08 Polaris 500 X2 with front brush guard, front rack extender, dual cargo bags, Polaris 3500 winch w/amsteel blue, Moose RM3 plow, and front shock spacers. I have kept my motorcycle - 88' 800 Honda Shadow - excellent bike, wife won't let me part with it, although I don't get many miles on in a season.

Took by oldest boy out for our maiden voyage last night - didn't get nearly enough mud on it. I think I may have to play hookey from work and find more mud!

Definately enjoying this forum!!

Before the maiden voyage

Nice ride, 5 J's! If you enjoy your X2 as much as I have mine you'll be a happy camper.

Moose - only have 12 miles on (from Monday night) - but man does this thing ride nice. Can't wait until this weekend to do some more riding.

Stendori - I do live towards the southern end of Oxford county - about 45 minutes east of North Conway, NH. I still have some snow on the ground it spots - this area of my yard gets the most sun. I still have my bike, but don't ride it nearly as much as I used to. I used to put 15k a year on - which as you know is pretty good considering the season in Maine. I have taken many motorcycle trips up into Canada, been out to Niagara Falls quite a few times, taken trips to Virginia. When the kids get a little older I'm sure the wife and I will get back into the longer trips.

Fishlessman - haven't decided on wheels/tires yet. Gonna ride on the stokers for a while to get a feel for how they ride. Then when I buy some wheels/tires I can give them a fair comparison to the stockers. Plus my new ride barely fits on my 4x8 trailer - so if I change wheels/tires - my ride might not fit on the trailer.
