Go with the atv stuff, IMO. The sled spring and weights should work in the atv primary. If you are at 10.25 inches on center go with the 7048 polaris belt. Check that #. My old tb runs that at 10". Right now you have the 500 secondary which is ebs and non adjustable. Get a non ebs secondary which has holes to adjust the spring tension. I can ship you out 1 of my secondarys so you can test Ive got several then if you want it we'll settle up. Now I want to do it to prove my point. Doc

Doc- the difference between the EBS secondary and the non EBS clutch is adjustable spring tension? Any other differences? You are very generous to offer your clutch for testing and I just may take you up on that. First let me run mine with a stronger spring, just to see if it will hook up at all. That way I will at least be sure this is a clutching problem, not something altogether different.

I guess my thoughts are,1 matched primary and secondary
2 belt deflection, get 10" clutch center to center with the right belt
3 then run it.
I have both primary and secondary clutches off a 400 scrambler. I think they run around 6000 rpms stock. Not sure on that #.
Let me know, and I'll get the stuff in the mail and we'll git-r-done. Doc

Update:
Some progress made yesterday- I was able to borrow some Scrambler clutches (thanks for the suggestion drlang). I now get about 35mph and much better feel. It is still pretty far off, but better. I am also convinced that I am not getting full RPM out of the motor. My "custom" exhuast is really corking it up I think. Also I must be missing some portion of the wire harness as the stock tach pigtail has no where to plug in on the engine harness
RPM's could be a major factor here. Looking at the stock tach, there are really on only two wires - yellow and brown. all the others go directly to warning/back up lights.
Does anyone know how I might wire the tach in to my motor without the proper harness?
