CV Joint assembly help
There's 80grams in the bag you get. I've used about half filling up the joint so there's got to be plenty in there. Maybe the kit scrambler is referencing has less grease? This kit has an 80 gram bag, boot, 2 clamps and a new circlip.
While I was picking up my boot from the dealer I asked the service guy if he had any replacement joints to look at. He pulled one from stock and the beveled or narrower side of the cage was facing out of the joint towards the axle. Next time I will make sure I pay closer attention.
The counter guys were shocked I had mine apart. They kept telling me my joint was junk because they don't come apart.

Well that frickin sucks. One of the large clamp ear sheared off when I was trying to clamp it down. It seems like it is too small to go on. I even bought the pliers for the clamps so I wouldn't screw it up. Any tips on how to get that sucker on without breaking it? Is the Polaris pliers shaped different? Any after market clamps I can get from Autozone?

i used a a pair of needle nose pliers. i know on the rear 800 innner joints the only to get it apart is to grind out the indents to slide out the cage and bearings. i was thinking on my old 800 front that there was a clip that held in the cage and *****. but i could be wrong.

Took the axle to the dealer and the new clamp was too big. They changed cv joints twice in 2006 and I have the newest style. The only available clamp was for the old style. They don't list a part # for the new one. The only way to get a new clamp was to buy a new boot kit. Luckily they had an ear type clamp that he put on for $2. Now I am ready to ride this weekend!
Thanks for everyone that helped
