$47.95 for a brand new 1 year warranty starter - we've used them for years and out of hundreds of starters we've bought, only had to warranty 3 so far. One of them the brushes stuck and the customer beat it with a hammer to the point of breaking a magnet inside - they still said for us to send it back and they sent a replacement.........
The 325, 335, 400, 425,& 500 all use the same starter.

I bought one from a company like ujoint and haven't had a problem with it. It's cheaper to buy them off this type of company on ebay or locally than to rebuild them most times. My last rebuild on a 500 I had only lasted the summer. So by the time I paid $25 for rebuild and waited for it I could have had a new on faster and last longer. I like the aftermarket one on my 700efi now better than the factory one. It's half as loud. It's really a nice starter. I gave 60 something for mine and the factory one was $300+

Chances are you have Polaris notorious sticking brush in the starter. Clean it up and it will work great again. A new brush will not work any better after the old one is cleaned up.</end quote></div>
My plan is to clean up the old one and keep it as a spare.

Probably best to call or email them. I did with my application and they got right back to me with the part number.
But it looks like it's the same as mine:

Polaris part # 3084981 - Starting Motor seems to fit all of the Single Cylinder 4 cycle engines from 325 to 500 (except the Xpedition - manual shift)
