Default Need a tune up

So the Polaris dealer qouted me around $300 for a tune up on my 06 500HO.

Wowzers! Thats alot of money. I would do it myself but am not very good at mechanics stuff. There is a local power sports place that used to tune up my street bikes for a good price but both #'s have been disconnected. I am Bummed because I would really like a tune up but don't want to pay the Dealer that much $$$.

Damn, that's a lot of money! I know you said, need a tune up, but does it really? Is it running bad?

Well it got a tune up when I sank it once but that was a while ago. It is running ok but sometimes it starts hard and I can hear the starter whine sometimes. I guess I would just feel better knowing it was tuned up.

Ya know, new oil and have everything checked.

My last oil change at the dealer cost me a total of $72.44, including the 6% state sales tax. It was a half-hour of labor, an oil change kit, and $3.95 for shop supplies and disposal.

Ahhh, DO it yourself. I have changed my oils, adj the throttle/cable, replace spark plugs
and cleaned the carb (SP450/wifes). ITS ALL PRETTY EASY! Ya just need to make the time
to do it... And save a few bucks in the process, whats nice is learning more by hands on doing about
your Quad - IMHO

Cheers,

R'

besides replacing the fluids, theres changing the s. plug, adjusting the valves(if you can on yours) and maybe clean the clutches. thats about it. i guess they would change fluids, and maybe the plug and that would be it. imo.

ya, I am not very mechanical with that stuff. Plus time is something that I do not have lately. Still hafta finish painting inside my house, split and stack wood, fix my dirt driveway, install my winch, help momma take care off 2 babies and work.
