Default first test drive 08 x2 500

I went with the 700 X2 and got it about a month ago. I had the 500 sportsman befor this one and with the wife on the back it was hard on the gear!!!!!!! now were out every chance we get and just love this Ride. I did get the side rails to protect the fenders and glad I did with it being longer you need more room and the bars will keep the fenders on it.. side bars 139.00 a side....busted fenders 400.00 + per

I thought of the fuel issue when it first died. It had fuel, but it was low. I opened the gas cap and looked inside and there was at least a gallon, maybe more in it. I think that the gage had 2 bars on it, from "E".

I'm still debating on getting the 700 or the 500. I have heard that the gas milage with the 500 is going to be alot better, maybe twice then that of the 700. I'm not really sure that I'll need the power of the 700 or not. I'll mainly be trail riding witht he wife and using it for hunting down the road.

I almost have all the toys I want before the little one comes. The ATV is the last one. I bought a 16 ft boat 2 years ago, a 07 tundra last year, and hopefully, the ATV this year. I just don't want to go too far in debt, you know how it is.

Just to let you know; if you are driving under 10 mph or so you would want to keep the 500 in Low. Anything over that, Hi will do it. I weigh about 350 and have had passengers on my 500 X2 many times. Some of them have been up to 200 or so lbs. It has never failed me yet. Over very steep hills that I would not have taken a shorter wheelbase on, through mud/waterholes, over large rocks (one about 3 ft. and almost vertical). The 500 has plenty of power. You may want more, but just wanted to let you know it has enough.
