Default Sportsman 90 running problem

I have a Sportsman 90 that I am trying to get running after being parked over the winter months. Rebuilt the carb and fuel is getting to the carb, but it will only fire on starting fluid. As soon as the fluid is run out, it dies. I have replaced the plug also. Any help?

Is there a fuel shutoff valve on it?

Depends on what year it is, but I would look at taking a compression test. I have seen many of those models loose compression because the rings are small and wear if the air filter is not cleaned or a good oil not used.
