Well, I just returned from vacation and a 2 day 187 mile ride and I'm happy to say with a reasonable amount of confidence that the problem is fixed. It ran great the whole trip, never giving me any problems at all. Thanks to all for the advice, and especially the NAPA part number for the fuel pump- it saved me hundreds of dollars!

next time it does it and it shuts off, turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump to prime. if no sound and when you try later to start it listen again for the pump to prime and if it does then my guess the fuel pump is going bad. a few had issues w/ them. just an idear.</end quote></div>

Great News Junior!!!
I just did the parts change thing also and have unit back together with new plugs, new fuel pump, new filter. Have not had time to ride it for over an hour yet, but it ran good for 20 Minutes. Based on your success, I can't wait to see if I have the same result. I will not have time for a week or 2 to put it to the hour + test. Will let everyone know the result.

Finally I found the time to do the hour & half test ride! Sucess on the fuel pump replacement. Thanks everyone for the input and the cost saving advice. You guy's provided far better info. than the 2 dealership I discussed the issue with. Neither of the dealerships wanted to tackle the problem, and no one ever even mentioned a fuel issue as a possibility.
