Gotta love that Turf Mode, too bad Polaris doesn't install that same technology on their one up models.

How does the X2 ride as a single.</end quote></div>

That was one of my biggest concerns, since I had a 800 Outlander MAX, and thought it road really stiff when just one adult was on it. Not bad with 2 adults on it . The sportsman X2 rides really smooth, I spent about an hour on my buddy's X2 prior to buying my X2 and it was really surpeising how smooth it road, I was expecting that same stiff ride that I had experinced with the MAX 800.

The turning radius on the X2 is just exceptional IMO. I have not got them out an did a comparion with my sigle seat Outy, but I bett the X2 is pretty close. The X2 turns a lot tighter than the MAX did. For me hauling a passenger vs riding it as a single rider is 80/20 or maybe even 90/10 in favor of the single rider application needs. So turning radius was also very important to me. The other thing I hated about the Max was I never had the dang back seat with me when I needed it. I would forget to bring the seat with me more often than not, so the coversion on the spot sorta make this X2 ideal for what I was wanting.

One of the things I didn't care for in my last Sporstman 800, back in 05' was the stabilty of the machine, on steep inclines, they were far more nerve racking on it than say the Outy I replaced it with. However with this X2 added wheelbasem, it really resolved that. The X2 has excelent gorund clearance and excelent stabilty, which is a somewhat of rare combination in a quad.

I'm getting like 12-15 with my 800 and 700 respectively. Of course, if I laid off the throttle I would probly get better mileage, but then I wouldn't be having any fun! If a 500 is really getting 20mpg, I am impressed!

I figured they would get a little better than that, I guess its a good thing the X2s have the biggest tanks in the Bizz. That was another thing I really liked about the X2s was that large 6 gallon tank, it 2 gallons larger than the regualr sportsman, and at least a half gallon larger than any other mahcine on the market that I can think of.

They used the X2 chassis to make the Touring model, the T has a real comforatable passenger seat, class leading comfort for the passenger on the Ts. I would say if you plan to ride solo more than 1/2 time, the X2 is maybe the better choice, if you plan to carry a passenger more than 50% of the time I would say the T is the better choice.

the few times I have checked my 500 X2, I was getting around 22 MPG. I've been filling it with the gas can the last few times so I don't know what the amount of fuel I've been putting in.

cc1999 sums up the X2 rides quite well - it is comfortable, stable, good ground clearance, etc.

I chose the X2 over the touring mainly beacuse I ride with my 5-year old son and the X2 offers more side protection as he is sitting in the middle of the dump box on the X2. The touring is pretty much wide open and I think he could more easily get thrown off the rear seat on the touring. Additionally overall the X2 is a little longer than the Touring.

With respect to gas mileage - I haven't checked but I know at the end of the day the guys on the 700's are needing gas and I don't. Depending on the amount of riding you do in a day this might not be a concern given that both the touring and X2 have much bigger gas tanks than the standard Sportsmans.

The 500 gives you the most bang for your buck IMO out of all Polaris motors, you get decent power, excellent fuel mileage and durability second to nothing on the market. I ride mine 1&2 up and have never felt under powered and "IF" I need more power there is always low. On GPS its capable of 57.8mph & will cruise at 30-40mph all day long. And on the trail under various conditions using a combination of 2 and 4 wheel drive it will average 22-28mpg what more can you ask for.
