Default Need some advice

To make it short, been out of atving for a while. Lately really have the itch to get back into riding again. Was looking and found a very clean 99 Scrambler 400 for 1900. It's in great shape, now I need to know is this a good buy? Also what things should I look for if/when I look at it.

Also is their any oppinions on this quad. My last ride was a Honda 250r that was worked a bit. Now I'm getting older and want a more plush ride. My riding will mostly consist of trails and powerlines, and winter riding to as I live in Flint area of Michigan. I don't want a slug of a quad, but don't or need a mxer quad like the new 450's and such. The Scrambler seems like it could be a good fit and a good buy. I would like to mod it with some bolt ons as well. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated, thank you. Rob

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

First off that is a fair price IF the topend has been done replacing the stock piston with a Wiesco. That is the weak point on 400Ls.If not talk him down $300 to cover a topend job.
With a decent pipe,matching clutching,and a good port job 400s will fly.
