Rebuilding my 1986 trail boss

Can anyone tell me what type of threads are used on bolts for atvs.
I am assuming that they are metric, however I am not sure what the thread pattern is?

On your 86 trail boss the motor will be metric but the rest of it should be standard thread.

Thanks Plumbob,

I went out and bought a couple of metric bolts thinking all was metric. However when I tried to fit them in various locations, they wouldn't fit. Now I know why,
