I have a 99 500 sportsman and it will not shut off I replaced the ingnition switch did not solve the problem

With key turned off does emergency switch kill it? check grounds (brown wires)?

 

I will check the wires but the kill will not stop the motor with or without the key on

hey tech, isnt that a basic grounding out system when you turn the key to off or hit the kill switch?

 

Thats why I asked about the kill switch also,if that doesnt kill it,short somewhere sounds like. Have had switches go bad before that you would turn off and kill only with emergency switch! Usually happened on the old 2 position switches with starter and kill switch combo. Just thought of something else. check to see if black wire from cdi is connected. This is kill switch to cdi. Just a thought!

I check all of the grouds and they test fine the switch also test good the atv runn runs for 20-30sec after i trun the key off I also changed the cdi and it made no change what should i check next ar can i just hook up a kill switch
