Seems as though a good majority of us are of the same frame of mind as far as making due one way or another and OPT hows that saying go? A carpenters house is never finished, a mechanics car always needs some work and a painters house is always in primer....lol, --- ftwflh must of just been having a bad day, hang in there bro it usually gets better, and WOW the photo in your "My Page" of that place you call the maze is awesome looking--how big of a area does it cover and what caused it?

Yeah it hurts every time we gas up the main reason is hearing the news say GAS IS COSTING MORE FOR NO GOOD REASON! The reports I hear is of how much LESS gas we are using in the US since last year and the cost of a barrel keeps going up! I feel for my kids who do not have the opportunity to ride as I did from my house to wherever I want. As parents, uncles, friends we always want better for the younger generation and it is getting painful to drive 30-60 minutes to have fun and it cost $80 in gas not to mention the camping fee's, tollway fee's (love IL), admission to the riding area fee's.

I am trying to keep my head out of the funk and hoping this over inflation of gas prices for no reason bursts soon!

P.S. Keeping the quads till I ride once a year when gas is $10 gal!

Its still cheap around hear ,its a 10 minuted truck ride than you can go for hundreds of miles on trails at no charge. Can,t imagine paying to use a trail. We have to pay on our sleds but that only because of the cost of maintaining the trail which is not needed with ATV trails, the rougher the trail the better in that sport.

It cost me about 150$ in fuel to go to WNF and ride for the day where I live now.

The cost of fuel is not getting out of hand it is already out of hand so my quick fix was transfer from Delaware to Lancaster garage it will cut off about 1.5 hours of driving one way for me to go ride.

Now I just have to sell my house and I thought fuel price was bad.

You got it right!I have been working on everyones ATV and when I was doing it for beer it was fun when I started charging$$$$ it turned into work
I still have 3 ATVs and would keep 2.I am getting discusted but at my old Harley and really could use a newer one(it is a 72 model) and the only way to afford it would be to turn my Scrambler and my Shovelhead.

ftwflh, step away from the beer.
Things will get better, you're just having a bad day.
If I sold all my gas powered toys, i would become a couch potatoe and that's not going to happen. Everything costs money to have fun. Go play golf and spend $100 and it's over in a few hours.
I admit my driving habits have changed. We go on the boat and find a beach and still have a good time. We just don't burn a tank of gas for the day.
Even the rv sits with a full tank of gas from our last trip camping and riding last year. I feel like I have a tank of gold sitting there and we need to use it before it goes bad.
We are also fortunate like others here and that we can ride from our house. It's still a great thing to do with the family and we all have fun and that's the main thing.

I don't think I'll ever give up the sport but I also said that about snowmobiling too LOL Haven't had a sled in 5 years and don't really miss it either. I think the only thing keeping me off my bike is a lack of time. The price of fuel doesn't bother me too much, theres nothing I can do to make it better and having fun is more important. I'm hoping when I'm done building my house I'll have more time to ride and get back to the forum more often too

What do you pay for a gallon of fuel now? Here in Norway we pay NOK 13.68 pr liter. (on sundays. In the weekdays it`s over NOK 14.00) 1 US gal = 3.785 liters. NOK 13.68 X 3.785 = NOK 51.77. $1.00 = NOK 5.08. That`s like $ 10.19 pr gallon for us. 85 percent of this is tax.
