Default Sportsman 800 vs Sportsman 800 Touring

Just got back from the local dealer. Did anyone else notice that the seat on the 800 is softer then the 800 touring? Also being 6.4 i noticed that the 2nd seat on the touring hits my rear. Feels like the drivers seat is not as long?

I like the 2up overall. I have a 700 x2 and love it. The wheel base is great for the hills. It is way more stable and the front end stays on the ground. The turf mode is great for the yard and for the trails. It turns great in turf mode. I use turf mode on all the trails unless I need the traction and then it is just a flip of a switch. The AWD switch also turns the turf mode off automaticlly so when i hit the AWD switch on and off I don't have to hit the turf switch on the headlight pod.

Have the 08 800 HO model and with the stock springs it squatted quite a bit. OK for one person but with two people the bike was very hard to control even with springs at highest setting. Felt like no weight on the front end. Had to put the EPI HD springs in the back, as when I upgraded to 27" XTR's, first ride out wore a 1/2" groove in side of fenders. Once new springs were installed, not a problem. Just thought I would let you know.

The X2 has a 400 lb. rating in the rear. The Touring is 120 lb. and I think the regular Sportsman is 100 lb. also. X2 is by far the stiffest sprung of any PoPos I've been on (other than the ATP which is a heavy duty solid axle rear). Thor, if I were going for the softest of the 3 rides I would get a regular Sportsman and leave the rear on its softest settings. I have a slightly herniated disk that causes problems sitting, standing, walking, and sleeping. The only thing that is enjoyable is riding my Polaris. It rides like a coach on wheels. I also like the long wheelbase quads as they are a better ride and much better on hills than a shorter wheelbase.
