Thats what its like riding a polaris 2 stroke (or any of there other quads,)
you slam the gas, and it takes off running without skipping a beat, non stop accell untill you back off the throttle
its basically a snomobile on wheels</end quote></div>
If only they tuned them the same from the factory.

A Mojave is a 4 stroke a trail blazer is a 2 stroke, its more like can the Mojave keep up since a 2 stroke has more power per cc than a 4 stroke. Thats why it takes a 250 4 stroke to race a 125 2 stroke and a 450 4 stroke to race a 250 2 stroke in motocross racing.
Not sure why people think 2 strokes are unreliable,My stroke 500 Snowmobile has 8000 miles on its original engine and still has 125psi in each cylinder. Our old Honda 250 2 stroke Elsinore MT ON/OFF road motor bike had 15000 miles on it before we sold it.

My 97 Trail Boss has never had an engine rebuild and still runs great. I did, however, stop using the oil injection and start mixing my oil last year just as a precaution. ' didn't want to inadvertantly fry the engine. The tranny has been apart but that was due to physical damage (hole thru the side of the case!) 11 years of moderate to hard riding! Is that dependable enough for you! other than broken/kinked chain thru tranny case, NO other issues other than routine maintenance (and a new rear shock)

Owned a 96 250 TB for a long time. It was a good little ATV and was much more comfortable than the other sports bikes. Did great on desert trails and mountains but was to underpowered in the sand. I would recommend a clutch kit as one of the first mods and then a pipe to open it up. The 250 TB does not have the same power as a regular 250 2-stoke. It has lower compression and reeds are different. The auto trans lags a little when you hit the throttle. I think Polaris did that on purpose because it's designed for beginners. He will have to ride it hard up a hill but should make it and won't stall like the rest of you. By the end of a trail ride the knees and rear-end wont hurt like when ridding a Mohave or Warrior. Buddy of mine had an old Kawasaki Tacati 250 2-stroke and would burn my eyebrows of with his roost. The good thing is there a massive amount of aftermarket mods that add a lot of performance for not much $.
Never had a problem with reliability. The 250TB is too simple to be unreliable. Just my opinion: I would recommend the TB over the Warrior but then again I'm not that young anymore and don't run around doing wheelies...I just bash myself on rocks where sports ATV's dare not go.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

You cant beat a 2000-up 250 Trailblazer for a small machine.BUT plan on doing a topend on it soon after you get it.It is a 2stroke and most likely hasnt had one yet.Put on an HPD pipe and clutch kit and it will hang with the 300sand 350 Warriors.Do the pipe clutch kit and a port job and it will blow a 350 Warrior and hold its own with a 400

Ok I have tons of seat time on the yfm350xf (warrior) was my first quad i got. My wife has a 04 250TB! So i have a fair amount of seat time on a TB. I can say that if i had to chose one it wld by far be the warrior. I love my Sportsman and the ride for what it is, but the TB does not ride imo that well at all. The warrior rode way better, smother more together somthing, just all around better for a sport machine! Now when it comes time to redo the motors or to get more power from the machine, the TB will be way way cheaper to do this to. I say if this is going to be his first machine go with TB if he knws what he is doing with a clutch and likes it go with the warrior i think he will be much happier in the end! I STILL LOVE MY SPORTSMAN LOL!

Alright thanks alot guys! We ended up getting the warrior last night, it was a kickass deal, 98 warrior 350 for 1100 in reak good condition, i couldnt have him pass that up. Im pissed that offer wasnt around when i bought mine. I guess my mojave is probably a little more reliable since its liquid cooled though.
