Default 2005' 700 EFI - Loss of Power

I just fixed my exhaust leak and found a torn inner CV joit and replaced that as well - with the help from you guys, thanks. I put my old belt back on because it was shifting hard and this fixed the problem. I don't know what the problem was with the new belt it appeared to be working properly and the clutch measured 10" exactly from center to center.
Anyhow, everything is replaced and I took a test drive: shifts good, exhaust quiet, CV boot repaired, 4wd works - check!

On the way home I lost power, not totally but it tops out at around 40 and doesn't have that fast response. Am I firing both cylinders? When I shut the machine off I had water dripping from the top of the sight window for the antifreeze. when it cooled it is right at the max level, when it was hot it raised to the top - completely full. Any suggestions? Thank you so much, this site is great and I'll help whomever I can... Jeff

One thing to check is if radiator clear, not mud packed, wash out,see if stops over heating

if it was coming out and it was overflowing, then it most likely was starting to overheat/ dmake sure your radaitor is clean on both sides like he mentioned. was the fan coming on? antifreeze level should be at min and then at full when hot.

Thank you - and thanks for your response to my first post. I washed the machine pretty well when all the plastic was off, including the radiator. It is possible it's dirty - I'll check... Do you have any inclination as to why I don't have full power? It starts and idles around 1100 rpm/normal for this temp. It appears to sound and run good except for this sudden loss of power..... ??????? New air filter, good flow from exhaust, could I not be firing both cylinders? Thanks again!

i would check the white jam nut in your drive clutch and make sure it is still in place, that would cause the clutch not to up shift fully

Believe it or not, loss of power was due to ETC cable loosened. I adjusted to the manufacture specs 1/8 - 1/16" of play. This did not affect my idle - still at around 1150 - 1200. Overheating prob fixed with a temp sensor replaced, Thanks again............Riding in the morning!!!!

CV Boot replacement - check
New NGK plugs - check
Fan working - check
Shifting hard/belt replacement - check
Shifting into park - Not solved!!!! (even when pulling hard on the spring)

Help from this site - PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS.............JEFF
