Tie Rod Woes
#1
Hey guys..
I remember having this problem when I changed my ends last year before
the great transmission/axle/swingarm/chain/sprocket disaster.
Now I had completly bent my left tie rod, and what a MF that was to try and drive home up dangerous hills.
I have a spare tie rod off a newer scrambler (which have the same looking mount point on the strut housing, but different ends, both look like the insides of my old 96 ends, but one has side has a slightly wider opening, im guesisng for that brass sleeve.
Problem is, unless i want toe out, (which i dont, makes this thing handle like ****!)
It appears my tie rods are too short..
Even with the ends threaded dangoursly close to the end, I am still toed out..
WTH?
This was even the case when I used the stock rods and correct replacement ends..
Whats going on here?
Could one end be threaded on too much throwing the other 3 off?

I hate messing with tie rods. I don't really have any advice but would like to tell you that I just keep playing with them until I get it right. I like to take some electrical tape and wrap it around the rod marking the rod end so when I go to install the new I know where to stop.
