I am looking to get a cheap 4 wheeler to horse around with. It doesn't have to be the best out there but how are Trailboss'. I am 5'11" and 180lbs. Would it be to small. I am just going to do a lot of horsing around with it and not entering a race or anything. I am tired of beating the hell out of my jeep and want something cheap and inexpensive to beat the hell out of. What do you think? How reliable are these things. How fast, just curious,

The Boss is a full size machine, so you will not feel cramped on it. I think it is a great machine. Also check out the Trail Blazer. It is a bit cheaper, and a bit peppier too, due to it being a 2 stroke.

I have had mine for 4 months and put a lot of miles on it. I love it! I can ride with friends with non-Polaris sport utility machines, while they suffer and get beat around, I ride smooth and comfortable. I'm 5'8" and 215. It is comfortable for me and has good power. My friend Dwayne is about 6'5" and 300 plus pounds. He finds it very comfortable and it seems to have good power even with him on it. He rode mine last weekend and bought one this weekend! The Trail Boss feels more comfortable to me than the T Blazer. The seat doesn't feel comfortable on the Blazer (To me). There is only a minor difference in stock power with the Boss having more lowend and the Blazer more top end. The Blazer is a lot easier to hop up though. Top speed on either is around 45-50. I repeat, I love mine and am well satisfied with it. If you have any other ?'s feel free to ask. I have had mine in about any terrain, including fairly deep water.

How much did you all pay for your TBosses? I am looking to stay in the 3000 to 3500 range.

I paid $3,300 plus tax for my 2000 trail boss. I bought it at the dealer in Maumee, OH (not sure where you are looking). I think they are selling them for $3,500 now (if memory serves correctly). Polaris increased the MSRP about $200 on the 2001 over the 2000 for the improvements that they made to it.

I love my trail boss. I'm 6'0 200 lbs and it takes me every were on the mountain i want to go,(slick muddy hills, rocky trails, and through the woods). well almost every were i got stuck on a slick rutted hill, covered in three inches of mud. but it did pretty good for a 2-wheel drive. but 99% of the time it will go anywere a 4-wheel drive will go.

I've had my trailboss for almost a year and i love it. It has never let me down. Its not the fastest machine on the market but it doesnt have to be when you are pulling 2 strokes out of the mud. I've had it in mud up to the seat and climbed hills that i never thought i would make to the top but allways have

TB 325 is a good machine for $ 3500,but it is heavy with low clearance. It hates mud.Polaris makes 2 stroker 250cc,4 wd for little more money.
My wife has it I'd never buy it again/I ride muddy trails and she has to be constantly pulled out,....... the Trail blazer is lighter and much better mudder!!!/
I had T Boss 250,lighter,better,but 2 stroke, my friend has 2000 explorer 250 4wd, excellent quad,2 stroke.
Just my observations and experience .
