I know a while back this was discussed but wanted to know if their was a fix for it or if polaris is offering a fix for it.The other day i went for an extended ride in warm weather and the tab that goes to the pull off side panel was melted I believe the exaust is too close to the plastic or the heat guard is not adequate.

Yes this area area around grommet affected most, resulting in rear cab and right front panel damage. I installed several exhaust shield kits and insulating foil on replacement cabs, later 07 models had this same improvement and have had no problems reported back to me so far(knock on wood),but I'm sure some damage still can occur if kits not installed correctly. I usually used DOUBLE foil insulation around areas closer to exhaust to BE SURE!

So does polaris have a recall and do they fix this issue or do I fix it myself?

CONTACT area dealer,SHOULD be able to sill warranty! We have had machines out of warranty covered before on many items. SOMETIMES if pretty far past bulletin or "team tips" notification that states NOT all Machines exhibit a CERTAIN condition, POLARIS may cover PARTS only, called "Good Faith". JUST depends on problem and HOW hard dealer tries for you sometimes! Good luck

Factory warranty 6 months,BUT exceptions especially on KNOWN problem areas should still receive consideration! ASK dealer to go to bat for you! I DO all the time! Good luck

check out my photos in my sig to see how i addressed the problem. The rear cab was signifcantly cooler than the removable panel. I will have to do it the same as the cab.
