Default Oil and Transmission fluid changes

Just wanted to see what everyone suggest on times to change fluids. My trail boss don't have an odometer or hour guage so when should I do the changes. Also is there a break in service that I need to take the atv back to the dealer for if so what do theyt do at this servicing.

Thanks

my 99 yahama big bear service manual says to change the crankcase oil every 6 months. no mileage or hour limit stated.

if it is dirty, i would just go ahead and change it. be sure to use the proper rated oil for your machine.

You should change the oil and filter and check all the fluids at least twice a year. Spring and fall is my schedule.

Break in is typically about 10 hours. You can take it back to a dealer, but they're just gonna change the oil, probably tell you the air filter is dirty (shouldn't be) change your plug (still good), adjust the valves and grease it.

They should also give it a good once over for any leaks.

All of which can be done in your own garage for a lot less money.
