Yes, selectable AWD/2wd. Pretty much the same through 03. Nice machines, lots of guys had that era machine in my old ATV club. They were good to them.

If this don't make ya want one...

I have an 88 TB 250 right now that is my money pit but it pulls like a champ. but the wife wants a bike now so she wants my old TB since I just snorkeled it and its all ready to go. And now I gotta get me another one. I was looking at the SP500 since they look Awesome and I can get it for pretty cheap. But the only problem is I know nothing about the 98 SP500's

They're good machines, if it's maintenence has been performed(taken care of) and it doesn't have a million miles, it's a good price. Those machines still fetch good money in my neck of the woods. In good shape I would expect to pay all of 2K. If it looks beat, it is. If it looks and runs good i wouldn't have a problem forking over 1800.

ONLY real weak point is u-joint driveshafts, but keep em greased and should last! cv driveshafts on 99 and up. Good luck

I finally saw some pics of the bike...Its not beat but I can definitely tell its a 98 It looks like it. Its got stock rims and outlaw tires on the rear only. Its green and well lemme put a pic up. But my question is, there a way I can upgrade the body. Like to a newer year plastics. I am gonna go on oem polaris website now and see if the fitment looks right but are all sportsmans pretty much the same and I can make this thing look newer. I found out that the plastics fitment is the same all the way up 2000 but I just was wondering if anyone has done this??
