Default Help with 1998 Sportsman 500

Hello,
I am new to this site, I just bought a used Polaris Sportsman 500. I got the wheeler for a good price, guy seemed decent, new plow and chains etc. I rode it just a little in his yard and brought it home.
I rode it some and it shakes violently. My Friend just changed the rear u-joints as they were getting bad but we can not figure out why the machine shakes so bad. The transmission is kind of loud and the plastic around the belt touches occasionally but that does not seem to be the problem. Any thoughts or suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

Hello,

Yes the steering shakes, almost feels like the entire machine shakes, the machine pulls to the left also, but not as bad as the shaking.

Your tie rods are shot, get those replaced and realign the front end. That should take care of a majority of the shaking if not all of it.

i think that has the old style as well and needs to have the better updated ones. also check the wheel bearing to see if there not worn out. also could be the tires are part of the problem.
