I had to run the weekend with 25 Carlisle Badlands xtr in the front and 28 Outlaws on the rear. (Its an long story) The bike is a 2002 700. Anyway, I ran as I always do with the AWD on the whole time being mindful of the same point that are listed here. The front wheels seemed to engage and disengage normally. I personally wouldn't run with the difference in size if for no other reason just because I want all the ground clearance I can get!

i know that. my point was there is a big differnce between the reg. mud lites and the mud lite xtr's (which i have and had the mud lites). i dont know if he knows there is a differnce between them is all i was refering too.

Well just my opinion, but I would want my front the same diameter so my front can
be adequete enough for AWD usuage if rears slip while in MUD or other slippery
applications. I would think if the front were smaller in size it would put that much
more pressure/load on the front to pull out the back which could present a problem
in the long-term.
