Default 800 software problem

Took my 05 sportsman 800 to dealer for sofware update for exhaust temp. problem. Got it home, put ecu in diag. mode showed 2.1 version which is what it was built with. Called dealer was told that the (2.1) would not change but the new sofware was downloaded to my machine. E-mailed Polaris they said see a dealer. Weather has been too cool to tell if there is a change. I feel like I was handed the smelly end of the stick! Can anybody confirm or denie this dealer's claim?

Default 800 software problem

Frist thank's for helping, I called another dealer, he said bring it in 2 weeks from now to have them look at it, he either could not or would not answer my question.I install software in GM vehicle's sometimes 4-5 times a day at my regular job.The way to check if the download took is to see if the id. number changed to a higher number. Might try calling Polaris and see when the rep. will be in my area.
