hpd auto rear chain tensioner-tension on wheel??
#1
anybody remember this new? there is alittle tension.enough where when i move the bike the chain just slides along the roller. it don't move atall! the chain has the special sticky chain grease but DUH!! i'm going to the badlands in indiana sat.probably going to put more miles on the quad than i ever have in one ride cause i hear the place is gigantic.i hope it lasts cause i had to cut the old chain track mount off so there is no going back...................

Set the chain where you have 1/2-3/8 in gap from the swingarm to the chain at the tensinor and you will be ok.
As for Badlandds it is fun but you can ride the whole thing in one day.Watch for the jeeps and trucks and when a trail head says winch recomended they mean it most the time but I have made it through with no problems.

the thing i wonder about ftwflh is that the chain is not turning the roller at all.i guess i could clean the grease off the bottom of the chain+roller surface just to see it spin........does it suppose to have alittle tension on the roller right out of the box?

i think the roller should turn maybe it needs cleaned and oiled. i have a lot of trouble keeping my 00 trail boss 325 chain tight too thinking about getting the hpd tensioner 4 mine have you had yours very long? does it seem too work ok?

yeah, sounds like if you have to replace the roller once a year that tells me the roller doesn't really turn until there grooved and then maybe not alot.since its sealed bearings i cant lube any more so i'm going to spin it with a drill until it frees up. hpd aint open till monday. thanx ftwflh
