I think that the comment they made about the impact on the land was to say an ATV has less impact on the land than other forms of transportation that could be used to get the job done. Therefore an ATV is the best choice for the enviroment. It doesn't upset me that he churned up a little dirt on an barren hillside. If he didn't use 4x4, yeah that is dumb. But at worst he is MAYBE contributing to erosion IMO. It would have been much worse in my mind if he was tearing up plants/trees ect. Again JMO

 

It's got to be better for the land than running a bulldozer down the line every time.
