Sportsman 500 won't rev up
could the battery being low be your problem? I've read alot of threads that say the Polaris will act stupid if it's not seeing a full 12V. I am not familiar with the ignition system, but I know all it took on my chopper for it to run like heck on the way to sturgis was a loose connection on the coil wire for the front cylinder - it would run fine until it was under load, and then it would dog out. Turned out to be one of the crimp-on "eyes" (end connector) on the end of the ignition wire was not crimped good, and it couldn't carry the current under load. Just an idea.

by the way - the chopper had me chasing fuel problems for about 5 hours before I found that bad wire, since I was ABSOLUTELY convinced it was starving for fuel. The way I found the problem??? I hit that coil wire with my extension, going back together after I had pulled the carb off to clean it, and the wire actually fell out of the end of the connector.
It's no fun on the way to sturgis on the side of the road either.
