Could someone tell me the valve lash and plug gap specs. for an '03 SP 700 twin? mine is starting to run crappy and I want rule out the disappearing cam lobe issue. Also I have had it for two years, probably about time for a set of plugs.

There is no valve adjustments on any of the twin engines found in any of Sportsmans (Hydrolic) as far as spark plug gap refer to your owners manual if you have one or someone else might be able to chime in with that spec. By the way welcome to the forum!

**NOTE** on my Popo 600 I have found the KNG plugs to work better than any other brand!

HA! HA! That could be the reason I cant find any information on the subject!! Thanks for the quick response. Since that is the case, I will probably start looking at the carb. It still has the plug on the IAM screw. The bike is bogging on top end and the exhaust out of the head has started glowing if i flog it much. I guess it could be a rev limiter issue?

IMO...the first thing you should do is remove the spark plugs. Take a look at them...and see how the engine is running. If they are all caked with soot, then that could be a carb issue with to much fuel being pumped into the engine.

So...take them off...and observe there condition. Clean them...and re-install. See if cleaning them improves the 700cc engine.

Good luck,

biz
