If you have spark at plug, check for other problems, BR8ES correct plug, If you dont have a compression tester, just remove plug, crank over and see if pops your thumb up on plug hole, crude, but can give you somewhere to start,if DOESNT then possible piston/ring problem. Timing is controlled electrically,SO dont worry, if machine has not run in a while probably need carb clean and possible needle valve replacement! Spark arrestor referred to is the muffler, but if can feel pressure/air coming out while cranking, probably not the cause.

Remove carb float bowl(4 screws) clean hex head main jet, pilot jet in small tube up in carb, remove and clean. Must see light through them after cleaning, can use spray carb cleaner or air. Be carefull. if replacing needle valve under float arm as you can damage carb posts trying to remove float arm pin. If is an old 85 model, may also check as suggested above that exaust system open, not stopped up from carbon over the years. Air compressor and blow nozzle helpful on jets and blowing through pipe from exhaust end to see if open
