This would probably depend on who you talk to. I have talked to guys who have put 2" lifts and swear that they have had zero problems, and others said that they go through axels like crazy. The highlifter forum is a great place for this info, as most of those guys over there have lifts, snorkels, clutch kits, and monster tires. They seem to be more geared toward competitions.

Fron what I have read and heard, stay away from those "$60" ones from ebay as those are the ones that seem to tear stuff up. Plus, with bigger tires, you will probably need a clutch kit, which gives it more power, and along with a lift kit you have a greater chance of ripping things apart, like axels. A lot of guys on highlifter swear by Gorilla axels, but those things are pretty pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I've run a 2" lift for over 3 1/2 years and still on the original axles. I have changed a few cv boots but thats it.
