How can i tell/test if the solenoid (by the battery) is bad?
I just bought a new battery. Cleaned all the cables.
And My tach and display is not coming on.
Could it be the solenoid or something else?

I have tried the screwdriver bypass. And it does spin the starter. So then that is good?
But why would I not get anything to come on at the Tach? Should I be getting any readings from voltmeter at the key switch?
I also have another issue with the fan. WHen the battery is connected the fan comes on without the key switch on. I have ordered a new "transmister" which I believe controls when the fan cuts on and off. Would a bad transmister that creates a "overheating" light to blink cause the lectrical system to shut down?

I just ordered a haynes repair manual. Then I will double check all the wiring.
Then if all else fails I can take it to the dealer who will be more than happy to take every penny they can. Me and local dealer have never seen eye to eye.
