Trailer Wiring
#2
I haven't done it but it should be pretty easy. Either tap in to the taillight wires or you could even tap into the work light wire if you're not using the worklights on the machine. Using the worklight wire you would only have tail lights,no brake lights but the trailer would be on its own switch.
I'd probably just tap into the tail light wires at the back of the machine. You will be adding extra elecrical load to the circuit but I really don't think it would be enough to hurt anything unless the traler has a bunch of marker lights. Two tailights/brake lights will be fine.

you could also use a relay setup so its not pulled extra load through the switch itself. not to be nosy but why would you need trailer lights behind a wheeler?</end quote></div>
Good call,I just done the three headlight mod using a relay. I don't know why I didn't think about that.

Thank you for the input. The trailer has all LED lights so the current draw will not be as much as an incandescent setup. I would like this because this time of year now that it gets dark early I would just like the extra safety. I move firewood around my property and I have to ride along the road. I just want the extra visibility the trailer light have to offer.

Makes sense, you can never be too visible especially along a highway.
