yes!! these bikes need at least 12.8 +- volts to keep them running or it will start running like crap. check the voltage of the bike running at idle and then at say 3,000 rpms. you should be pushing at 13.5 and higher. maybe take the battery out and have a load test put on it to make sure its not going bad.

It will start and run good,,, and if I run it down the road as I stated about 3/4 of a mile to a mile,,, it starts running bad. Once running and turning higher rpms, with no headlights or anything on, will the alternator put out enough to keep it running good? Or does the alternator have to put out enough, along with a good battery, to maintain proper voltage? I will surely check this out. As a matter of fact, when the battery goes dead, if I hook a booster up, it will start, but if I take it off, the engine shuts off right away. I have to elave the charger on it for awhile to get it to start and remain running when the charger is unhooked. I will be going to Sam's Club tomorrow and will see how much batteries are from there. I will let you know if it is a battery problem for sure.

Thanks

Rob

Got a new battery and put it in today. Let it run for awhile, then took it down the road. Well it does the same thing. The old battery was load tested and it was bad. It didnt seem to pop quite as much, but it did some and lost power like before. Eventually I guess I will have to take it in to be looked at and see whats wrong. Will let you all know what was wrong if I find out.

Have you checked fuel filter(pn#2520464) or fuel pump pressure at the fuel rail?
