Hello,
the r.f. hub won't engage in 4wd,the l.f. works o.k.
I switched the connector for the l.f. and r.f. wire harness and the l.f. still works,so I would assume the problem is either the coil assembly or something in the hub??
are there any checks that I can make to find out for sure??
I could swap the l.f. and r.f. hubs and see if the problems moves to the opposited side, just wondering if this is a common problem or am I on my own??
thank's for the help

Can switch wires as suggested or use a test light to see if power to r/front strut coil. If still doesnt work, then check into hub for armature plate, hilliard damage. If dry,no or very little fluid like some I've come across, can cause wear damage at coil face and sleeve and even the inner portion of the strut itself which is where the coil is mounted, rendering strut useless. Hope this is not your problem. If coil is damaged/cracked(can happen) then manual recommended as AWD system coil replacement and adjustments critical. Good luck

sounds like I could have some real problems!!
there was in fact no fluid left on that r.f. hub,I had it apart a few years ago to replce the r.f. c/v boot and I used the special fluid that polaris reccomends but must have leaked out and I did not check it.
There is no play in the hub but the hub feels notchy, like a bad wheel bearing.
I will ohm out the l.f. sensor and compare it to the reading on the r.f. and then pull it apart and see what is damaged!!
thank's for the reply's.

If hub feels notchy then more than likely bearings bad and in some instances I have even had to replace the hub itself because of damage to smooth inner surface where hilliard rolls and engages! Usually strut or hub seals leak and are not checked often, then run dry and the damage is done over a period of time! Good luck

i had this happen to my 93 350L, for me it was the roller cage was cracked in several places. hub assembly was dry, luckily i was able to reuse rollers and retainer spring, retainer spring is discontinued part. just the cage cost me $160 canadian. also had to change out cv joint due to failed boot and water entering mashing up all the bearings.all this happened on a day trip. goodluck
