What is the next breakthrough or gadget on ATV's?

How about an adjustable suspension with air bags???? Can change your riding height of the atv with a push of a button. Lower it for better handling on the trails. Raise it for more ground clearance. Or how about air bladders that you can fill up with a built in compressor to make your atv float across those nasty deep mud holes/ponds/streams.
Just a thought.

How about a Heads Up Display on your helmet. Just kidding.
I'd like to see a built in security system to make it theft-proof. Maybe a biometric scanner so it will only unlock and start if you scan your fingerprint. The technology is cheap and widely available.

If any one every needs a test subject on this idea I think you would be the best test subject lol

A low-rider suspension on an ATV should be possible. Air-bags wouldn't require all the bulk and weight of hydraulic systems and extra batteries to run the pumps.
The Ranger XD has self-leveling shocks. Not sure how they work but I think that would be cool on the X2 and 6x6. Pile on a heavy load and it sits level.

I have so many locks on it now it takes three trips to take them all off and bring them in the house. I still don't feel safe at all. I'm adding a second alarm too, to make it louder and harder to steal without getting caught.

Believe it or not, electric ATV's are already here, and this one here looks just like a sportsman [img][/img] Looks like they know a good design when they see one!!!</end quote></div>
Jamie Hyneman of MythBusters built the first one of those as a "proof of concept" vehicle.
A place just a few blocks from my mom's house sells Bad Boy Buggies. I never asked what the range on them is but I go for a 2 or 3 week vacation every summer. There's no electricity and I don't own a generator, so I wouldn't get far with an electric ATV or UTV.

I think it will be anti lock brakes. They already have them on motorcycles.</end quote></div>
Just what I was thinking! 3 or 4 channel ABS...to help steering while hard braking.
