PRAIRIE 650 STATS

The HO was designed with one point in mind. Beat the Grizzly on top end.
The point of the KAW 650 is to beat both the HO and the Grizzly on top end AND IN THE MUD. With all of that available torque it should have no trouble turning over the LARGER tires in the "Serious Mud".
The "loss of power" with larger tires will be less on the Kawasaki 650 than it will be on a HO with larger tires.
Also... while it is in the mud it won't be wearing out it's rear brake pads
What a great year to be an ATVer!!

Thor,
The HO was not made just to beat the Grizzly on top end. If this was the only goal, Polaris already makes the Scambler 400. As you know the HO mods just made already superior SP500 a little faster and more trail worthy. By attributing the HO mods to Polaris's attempt to beat the Grizzly's top end, you are leaving out all of the Sportsmans other benifits that will make it superior to the Kawasaki as well. Even though I am also tempted by the new Kawasaki, until someone makes a bike with the ride quality and ground clearance of the HO, I will ride a Sportsman. I bet the Kawasaki will run off and leave the SP500 on flat smooth ground, but when the going gets rough, it won't ride any better than any other solid rear axel quad, and that is where the SP500 IRS makes all the difference.
