From what I have read, at LEAST three times, or until it does not look milky when you drain it, then I would do it another time or two just to be on the safe side.

Couple times should do it depending on how much water! After 2nd time may see a little watery film around top of oil tank and dipstick,if you do then change oil and filter after about 10 hrs. May have to burn a little oil and filters, but cheaper than replacing engine parts. On heavily swamped machines I have have drained oil, removed valve cover, flushed valve train and filled tank with naptha or kerosene, pulled over several times with recoil,DONT start, drained throughly, poured oil over valve area, new filter and oil.

When there is about as much water as oil in oil tank! Plus take a sample of fuel in clear glass or cup,if water in in tank you will see it settle at bottom of container. If so then flush tank and carb also.

About the fuel, you'd have to take the sample from the lowest point in the system since that is where the water would settle.

Like OPT said, cheaper than replacing engine parts.
