Default Predator 500 issues

Hey guys, I got my predator about 7 months ago. I traded my bike plus cash for it. Supposeably its bored, ported. I know its jetted bc Ive changed the jets a few times and it also has a yosh full exhasut system. Ive been having a lot of problems with it. My main problem though is it starting. This thing runs through batteries. It does this weird clicking noise every time I hit the start button and itll take a lot of clicks until it finally starts. Lately though, it wont start at all unless i jump it. Itll just keep clicking and clicking. What would be causing this? Is the starter shot? I cleaned off all of the starter relays and solenoids etc. every electrical part running to the battery. Anyone know what is causing this and what my fix is? There is also this 12v regulator that runs off the battery, its a small square box thats connected to 2 different wires that are running to the battery. I wasnt sure if that could be bad or if it even belongs on there.

Have you checked the voltage at the starter? Almost sounds like it is undervoltage.

Turn the key on and have someone tap the starter with the wooden end of a hammer if it starts easier your starter is going south. If not check all wiring for loose connections and cut insulation. Voltage is a weird thing. Remember to look at it like water it is going to take the path of least resistance. An nick in a wire can cause some crazy results. My money is on the starter though.

wow... thats gotta suck. If you are going through batteries I would check to see if your charging unit is working as intended.

I would take off the starter solenoid and take it to the local parts store and have it tested, the starter solenoid is what you here click, I would guess its about ready to crap out

I agree. I have had two preddys and never had a problem with them starting or going through batteries. Generally, sportys don't eat batteries like a ute. Problem has to be the starter and/or solenoid.
