Hot Seat sells longer studs as part of a kit to add spacers between the stock hubs and rims. I think they are included in a kit with the wheel spacer, but you might be able to talk them into selling just the longer studs. Unless they would be too long. They are 1 1/2 inches longer than stock, according to their book. They are at 651-982-0600 or www.hotseatperformance.com

As long as they are full thread, they will work. best way to shorten would be on a lathe for a neat cut.

I haven't been to the auto parts houses with a sample yet either. I figure 1/4" extra is all we need!

A good aftermarket repair shop will have several types of studs. I found sme that orked perfectly. It's important to get the right type to fit your hubs so they won't turn when you want to remove the wheels. But really, the stock ones work ok, you only get about 3/4 of the stud, but they do work. I have a couple of machine that have been like that for several years with no problems at all. Never a problem, so why worry about the length of the studs??? the wheels won't come off. Don't worry about it and change the wheels.

Jack what auto parts store did you find wheel studs for a sportman in . I know that we can run the wheels with the studs being short, but if you try to tighten them a little to tight they strip.NOT SO GOOD AT THE PULLS WHEN YOU ARE IN THE FINALS AND THE WHEEL STARTS TO COME OFF
WITH 1300 POUNDS OF SLED BEHIND YOU 4TH PLACE SU*KS D.N.F
THANK YOU YOUR IN PUT Any info is welcome
