Battery Not Charging?
#1
I just bought a new 2007 polaris sportsman 700 from sport rider in morgantown. the second time i had it out, i noticed that the battery was blinking on the screen. So i checked the voltages coming off the battery. it was only like 11.5 i think. Then i charged the battery and started the atv back up and the voltage across the terminals did not change? i even reved the engine up, and the voltage didn't change at all? Is there an alternator or something that charges the battery? What can i check? Please help!!! this is my first atv and it is not looking too good!!!!!!!! thanks..................................Dan

check the connections on the ecm which is also the recifier that controls the voltage going into the battery. if you check the volts w/ it reving it should be above 13.5 at the lowest. if the charging system isnt working im guessing its the recifier thats the issue. imo.

unless you have a service manual and not an oweners manual it wont say anything about them in there. its up under the front end under the plastic square in sahpe a w/ harness going into it.
