Does anyone have any suggestions my 4 wheel drive does not work it will engage once in a while but when it does engage the 4x4 indicator light does not com on. The battery seems to be good, light are bright, winch works fine picking up my plow, engine cranks. that being said I did put the battery on charger and made sure it was top off made no difference. Any direction would be appreciated as where to look next

possible problems in the frt diff,i have replaced 3 cracked hillard cages in my 04.5 ..not a fun job and pricey

 

Change front end fluid.

 

Can anyone tell me where tah all wheel drive coil is located? I started the machine up in diagnostic mod and its telling me that the all wheel drive coil is off and the manual says that means its not getting any voltage to it. The battery is in good shape

Does it have the two hub Hillard's or the one front diff Hillard with the plastic cage?

2004 1/2 SPORTSMAN 700

 

I,m sure that has the single front diff engagment, so the weak plastic roller cage is a concern to look at. One of Polaris changes for the worst ,not better.

If it turns out to be so, John Dear offers a stronger metal roller cage that will work.
