Default 4x4 PROBLEM

ok one of my wheels quit spinnin today i noticed... and after lookin over the bike i noticed the CV boot was tore ... would that make the 4x4 quit working? would the fluid in the hub leak out? or what? thanks guys... and by the way i just had the WHOLE 4x4 gone through... everything inside was replaced

no a torn bot would cause it to stop working. more then likely something inside the hub but you will need to replace the boot for sure. imo.

if you striped a cv joint it would stack the 4x4 from working on that axle.

if you did that you should be able to hear and see it w/out too much issue. there would be alot of slop in the cv cup for sure. imo.

you need to check fluid level, only holds a few ounces, check for any wheel play with hands at 12 and 6 0clock.play even a small amount is bad cause the three tangs on the armiture plate are only about 1/8"+tops long and wide, which leaves no room for slop, they will spin and completely take out(and not to dinner) the hilliard roller clutch.
