I want a plow
#21
If you haven't noticed it already, then it does not move as much as mine. so I must not be doing something right. I have a friend who had one like mine, but he now has an Ouchlander. He wanted something with a little more speed. Just think if he would have waited for the new Polaris 850s. If I can get him up to my place to look at mine, he will tell me what is going on. I have only used it for 5 mins.

i leave mine hooked up all winter long, so no crawling on the ground. I have a moose country low pro mount kit that comes off easily and is super slim design allowing for decent ground clearance. I just didnt want to spend $400 or more on a plow, i got my whole setup for $170.

With the floating blade thingy can you also plow the driveway?</end quote></div>
Yes you can still plow anywhere that you can with a reg. wear blade. It probablly won't scrape the snow quite as well as a straight wear bar, but should do ok.
It's just that the working edge of the wear bar is rolled under so there isn't that sharp edge cutting into the ground.

I agree - if the ground is frozen - put the plow to the ground, you are not going to hurt the dead/frozen grass. I don't agree with the larger plows... I have a 50" and love it. You can angle it one click and go down the trails. When you have deep, wet snow you can't go more than one click to the side without your machine turning sideways - - - and I have a 700 EFI. A 60" would be worse.
My avice - Go with the Glacier I, and stick to the 48-50" so you can go where you need to without removing the blade. GL</end quote></div>
I have the glacier system as well. I have both a 60" blade and a 48" blade. I use the 48 for the sidewalks as it fits perfectly down the line. The 60 is a little wide even when angled all the way causing damage to the lawns, fences, etc. I have had no problems with the plow, just the chincy mount. My friend fixed that problem with a little extra metal and some welding. It is nice being able to quickly switch between the two blades when I have to.

There is also a wear bar that Polaris makes for their plows that is designed for use on grass, It is called a floating plow blade wear bar part #2875369 it sells for $49.99 USA and $59.99 Can.
It has a rolled bottom edge so as not to dig in.</end quote></div>
Good to know! Thanks for the info!

X2........The lower mount on a Eagle comes off in a couple of minutes and goes back on in the same......no loss of groung clearance</end quote></div>
Changed out most of the cheap hardware on my Glacier II frame.
Changed some of the same junky hardware on the Glacier Plow mount.
Had a closer look at how flimsy the Glacier II mount really is.
Saw a Moose RM3 Mount today at my dealer... looks to be the same as the Glacier II. For the sake of the guys getting the Moose System, I hope it's done to different specs than the Glacier (doesn't look like it though).
Made in China junk!!!
Anyhow, I researched quite a bit this evening on plows and mounts for my next purchase down the road.
I have to agree with triplggg (and the others) that recommend the Eagle plow system. It looks to be the strongest and easiest to use (and remove) of all the push type plow system... and IT'S MADE IN AMERICA... probably with real steel and bolts and nuts that will actually hold up! I will look into it -- do you have a website for it?

Sure...
Eagle Plow System
Look how easy it will be to remove the plate with the 5/8" diameter latching rods. You simply "loosen" the 4 bolts... slide it a little bit and the plate comes off when you want.
Looks and sounds to be VERY strong... but simple and easy to use.
